Get the app
Small Hours works on any phone. Add it to your home screen once and it opens like any other app: full screen, with its own icon, and a morning reminder for your diary if you want one.
iPhone and iPad
- Safari
- In Safari, tap the Share button, then “Add to Home Screen”.
- Chrome
- In Chrome, tap the Share button beside the address bar, then “Add to Home Screen”. If you don’t see it, open this page in Safari and do the same there.
- Firefox, Edge or another browser
- Tap your browser’s Share button, then “Add to Home Screen”. If you don’t see it, open this page in Safari and do the same there.
- Inside Instagram, Facebook or the Google app
- First open this page in Safari (look for “Open in Safari” in this app’s menu). Then tap the Share button and “Add to Home Screen”.
Then open Small Hours from your home screen and sign in. To get the morning reminder, turn it on in Settings. Reminders need iOS 16.4 or newer, which every iPhone updated since 2023 has.
Android
- Chrome
- Tap the three-dot menu at the top right, then “Add to home screen” (some phones say “Install app”).
- Samsung Internet
- Tap the menu at the bottom right, then “Add page to” and “Home screen”.
Then open Small Hours from your home screen and sign in. Once you are signed in, the app also offers a one-tap install button. The morning reminder is in Settings.
A computer
- Any modern browser
- Nothing to install. Go to the website and sign in. Your diary is the same on your phone and your computer.
The screens are laid out for a phone first, because that is where most people fill in a diary in the morning, but everything works at a desk.
Small Hours is a self-guided program for adults. It is not an emergency service. If you are in crisis, call or text 9-8-8 in Canada or the US at any hour.
